Overcoming Pain on Your Journey to Fitness

By Vito La Fata

If you talk to many people, you will realize that lots of them have a tough time getting rid of the extra fat that they have on their bodies. They may even be unsure why they cannot get the body that they want. The truth is, this is a very normal problem to have. Lots of people deal with this on a daily basis. So what do many of these people have in common? The answer may surprise you. It is pain.

These little aches and pains are keeping people back from stringing together a consistent program of exercise that allows their body to achieve the results they want. But, let's go deeper (but staying very simple) on how pain is not allowing you to burn fat and get strong.

You may be wondering how pain will keep you from getting rid of fat and building muscle tone. It is very easy to comprehend actually. Simply put, if you are hurting, you are going to find it very hard to work out at the level needed to really start melting the fat off your body. And do not be deceived: just taking a walk is not going to do the job.

Think about it. How many fit people do you know who only take walks for their exercise? Probably none because it is not enough exercise to get really good fat loss, especially when you think about how many calories the average person eats! So the more you hurt the less you will move, and the less you move, the more fat you will store.

But pain will keep you from establishing good muscle mass as well. If you are hurting, you are probably going to avoid the heavier weights that actually make a difference in your muscle tone. Just using light weights will not help for very long.

So, what is the answer? Start training harder! Pick heavier weights and start working out for longer periods of time. Find a trainer who can help you start conditioning your body to get strong and you can say good bye to pain!
