One kind of exercise you can do is a push up. This one is an oldie but a goodie. You can exercise your arms and muscles by a few on the floor depending on how much your body is capable of. Crunches are very common exercise routines as well. These are done to strengthen abdominal muscles. Your muscles can be firm and in shape in time. Also, you should not hurry yourself to get your head up. It may take time for your muscles to fully stretch and allow you to do this naturally. You can also perform supine reverse crunches for this.

Squat jumps are great for a whole body exercise. These also keep your heart beating. If you want total body movement, you can choose this exercise routine. When you jump and move your body, you get to exercise your knees, legs, and buttocks. The forward lunge is also a good exercise for your legs and thighs.

Walking is of course a form of exercise that almost comes naturally. Whenever you walk around the house, you are already exercising without realizing it. You can simply walk up and down your stairs for this one. Also, you can always jog in place if you want to. This is a very simple routine which allows you to listen to music or watch TV.

If you have a set of equipment for personal use, now is a good time to let them out. You can also buy some equipment that can be used at home. Some commonly personal exercise equipment are dumbbells and treadmills. Dumbbells are used to increase muscle strength. A treadmill also lets you run in place for several minutes.

At present, there are numerous exercise videos you can use for this purpose. Exercise DVDs are getting very popular nowadays. You can follow the instructor on the video so you can perform the routines correctly. Videos can also be found online these days. You may choose routines which you think are doable for your level of fitness.

It would be good if you can start early with your in home workouts. The sooner you start, the more time you have to make improvements. You can go a long way if you start early. When doing exercises, you also have to remember that this is better combined with healthy eating and a change in lifestyle.
