When a person falls sick the extent of the illness is determined as a serious case when the person is dependent on medication and cannot do without them. Some illnesses are curable and others are not, in this article we will look at how to treat Lyme disease in human beings.

Lyme is a bacterial disease that is caused by the bite of ticks which are infected. It is most common in dogs and affect humans how live in areas where animals are or they like spending time with the animals.

The symptoms of Lyme disease are as follows in its early stage; rashes after the tick bite the affected person develops a red mark around the bitten area and after a few days it forms in a way it looks like a bull eye though its painless. The other symptom is flu, the affected person starts getting headaches, fever, aches all over the body and fatigue.

Later symptoms are; joint pains- one is likely to feel pains at the joints at different times or at the same time. It can affect the nerve system and if the person affected does not seek medical attention as soon as possible he or she might get brain damages, heart problems, swollen glands, kidney problems and other serious problems caused by the disease.

However, Lyme is not a contagious disease so people should not be worried that they can get it from an infected person. Health providers mostly diagnose the illness by the red rash; this symptom is what they look for as it must appear to the person who suffers the ailment.

Patients are mostly given antibiotics to clear the disease and additional medicines to those who have the late symptoms as mentioned above. It takes a few weeks for it to clear. There is also natural way to cure the illness and can be easily done at home. But the natural way is mostly for the early stages of the illness.

People should not be worried about getting the disease from an infected person as it is not contagious. The age group that is likely to be affected is children between the ages of five to fourteen and adults between ages forty to forty nine but this affect people who live in areas that are infested with the ticks.

It is not a must for one to live in an area infested with ticks to get Lyme. A person might get it through rodents or standing unknowingly where the ticks are. To ensure that one does not get the illness it recommended for them to get vaccinated along with their animals and if a person suspects to have the disease they should seek immediate medical attention instead of waiting for it to reach severe stages. Good health is just as important as seeing a new day that is why we need to stay healthy.
