One of the problems that some women experience is the involuntary urine leakage. In other words, this is when you leak urine when you least expect or even when you do not intend to. This is the inability of your urinary bladder to hold urine because the sphincter of the bladder is either weak or lost. In medical terms, this condition is known as urinary incontinence. Many doctors therefore find controlling urinary incontinence a subject of great importance to them.

One of the facts that you need to understand about the diseases is that it could be permanent or temporary. Some people are usually affected due to some conditions such as taking some drugs or foods that may increase the amount of urine in the bladder. Some women who give birth through the vaginal delivery experience this condition since this form of child delivery weakens the bladder muscles. In some cases, the rectum, uterus, bladder and small intestine push down after vaginal delivery causing this condition.

As you grow old, the body muscles also age and become weak. This is another major cause of this problem which can also affect men. No one can prevent themselves from aging and the effects that come with it. If your muscles weaken, you cannot reverse the situation. All you can do is accept the situation and try to learn ways that you can reduce the effects of the condition.

Neurological infections are another major cause of this disorder. For people whose nerves are not functioning, they might not even be aware when they pass urine unconsciously. They do not feel any impulses around their bladder or the urethra so they might not even know that they have the problems. These diseases such as stroke and spinal cord injuries severely damage the nerves in a way that you cannot feel most of your body muscles.

Exercising the muscles around the pelvic region is one of the ways that you can use to reduce the effects of this disease. Just like any other exercises, this makes the muscles stronger especially if your condition is permanent and cannot be reversed by use of any medicines.

Doctors say with excess body weight could be the major victims of the urine leaking problem. For this reason, you need to know that reducing weight is a great way to control this condition. Excess body weight makes the muscles of the pelvic floor weak and influences the fatty tissues on your urinary bladder to cause pressure on your urinary bladder.

Lastly, it is recommended that you reduce the intake of stimulants and alcoholic drinks. It is also advisable that you should reduce the level of weights that you use while exercising. This will ensure that the pelvic and bladder muscles do not weaken.
